Reach Out is an 8.5” x 11.5” painting on cotton rag paper. This abstract pastel, acrylic, and watercolor work on paper uses neutral blue and beige tones to uplift color and shape in a positive, buoyant pattern. Orange and beige tones contrast white shapes moving in the same direction, suggesting multiple different viable pathways in the pursuit of growth. This work is about reaching beyond your comfort zone into a space outside of your normal. The beige mark exiting the rest of the artwork represents a successful reach. Positive circumstances are suggested by circular white dots, which are further emphasized by navy marks. This emphasis alludes to the impact of such positivity in the pursuit of reaching beyond ourselves. Where would you be if you first reached out?

The cotton paper is a neutral light blue sky color with cotton fibers weaving in and out of its surface. This paper is perfectly imperfect, as are all natural fiber materials.
