Sapphire Burn is an 8.5” x 11.5” painting on cotton rag paper. This painting alternates between subtle and high-contrast tones, creating a dimensional, burning effect. This abstract pastel, acrylic paint, and ink work on paper is layered repeatedly for increased dimensionality. The cotton paper is a neutral tan color with cotton fibers weaving in and out of its surface. This paper is perfectly imperfect, as are all natural fiber materials.
